Well it's an old school X Men title but they seem to only have taken the title and a hint of the elements from that actual storyline. In the DoFP run an older Kitty Pryde time travelled back to her old self to help stop the sentinels (I think) whereas in the movie somehow Kitty sends Wolverine back in time to meet up with the First Class X Men...

I still don't quite know how they are going to make the First Class and Trilogy timelines meet up in the middle, but if it means I get to have my beloved Bobby Drake back on the big screen right now I'm past caring!
